I find that children have the attention span of a squirrel with rabbies. So finding a book that they can actually sit for the entire duration of the book is quit difficult. The author does an excellent job of “creating” these characters so they are unforgettable. I imagine it will be one of those stories they think fondly of when they are much older learning about the same characters in their history lectures.
Also, as an auntie, I was able to actually read the book without completely falling asleep. I even learned something new about quite a few of the characters. Rare find, a children's book that as an adult I actually don’t mind reading.
I would totally suggest this book for those looking to both entertain and educate their kids. The silly characters are easy for little ones to remember and relate to interesting facts. A completely fun read!

It’s a great way to motivate young children or teenagers to read a book and learning something about the world. The witty language and the puns delivered throughout the book (not only with the names) make it enjoyable and you’ll be able to have some laughs. As a person who works with children, I found it a great way to introduce them to this important personalities without being too boring. Fun facts, good drawings, and puns are always a hit with children.
My daughter and I both loved this book! It is witty and maybe a little sarcastic, but I found it humorous, and it does have an educational value as well. I literally laughed out loud with almost every turn of the page, and my 11-year-old giggled and thought it was “silly”. She had never heard of some of the historical figures represented, so that gave us a chance to talk about the character and what they were famous for. She recognized Amelia Earhart right away, and I think that was her favorite. I think mine is a tie between Vincent Van Goat and Marie Curious! If you have even the smallest hint of a sense of humor, you will really enjoy this book! It is cute, and is a good change from most of the books you probably read with your kids! Unique, funny, and educational – you can’t lose! I am still laughing as I write this review!
I’ve delved into this children’s book without any idea what I am getting myself into. Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying it immensely. This children’s book introduces the famous iconic figures in the world in a cool, fun, and creative way. I applaud the author for being able to come up with this idea which I think would really entertain not just the children but also the people of all ages.
“Meet My Famous Friends” does not only introduce famous personalities but also the things that they have contributed to the world. I love how the sentences were constructed. They are simple and easy to understand. Aside from that, the pictures are hilarious and eye-catching. They certainly attract everyone’s attention. This work of art such a fun creation. Very informational and certainly useful. Reading this book will not just give you entertainment but it also gives additional knowledge. I would never hesitate to recommend this to my friends, especially those have children.
Rich DiSilvio's book is the perfect parody for an excellent and memorable reading experience. I absolutely loved this book; it is so delightful that it had me in splits a lot of the time. It is all about turning famous people into funny characters with amazing illustrations and even better plays on words. We get to meet Vincent van Goat and Albert Eine-Stein among other hilarious and witty characters.
What I loved the most about this book is how great it is to stimulate imagination and really get a person thinking along particular lines. It can be effective enough to bring out someone's witty side, maybe even encourage them to pen down a line or two. Another, perhaps greater, aspect of this book is how pertinent it is for children, especially in today's age. Reading has taken a backseat, as has the effort that goes into creating something as funny and original as this. A book like this one is wonderfully effective in getting their creative sides and imagination to the fore, putting other forms of 'readymade' entertainment that's available on the internet to the back for a while.
And what's perfect is that any person, of any age, who can appreciate some wit and slapstick humour will enjoy this book. It's universal in its approach as well as design. A must read, I say!
